Fabi has dropped below Ding Liren on the live rating list, with Magnus Carlsen, who has now won all four games in Sochi, the only remaining member of the 2800 club. Yu Yangyi and Jorden van Foreest failed to mount comebacks, but Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Adhiban, Jeffery Xiong and Michal Krasenkow succeeded, with the 57-year-old winning a stunning game against 15-year-old Praggnanandhaa. Valentina Gunina knocking out Harika Dronavalli is the only upset so far in Round 3 of the women’s event.
